Started in 2001, Clae came about during a conversation about the two distinct types of footwear out in the market.  Once upon a time you could either get athletic sneakers or hard bottomed leather shoes.  There was a hole in the market, and Clae was looking to fill it.  Coining the term “athleisure”, Clae set to bridge the gap between those two factions.  Taking premium leather, nylon and suede, slimming the silhouette, and adding an updated rubber sole was just the beginning for Clae.
